Detroit Rock City is the newest print in my series of vintage Detroit imagery mixed with elements of Detroit's rich history. The focus on Detroit Rock city was to feature the music history of the city and there are over 50 distinct music references in the piece. I hope you like it, it goes great with the Grey's Sports Almanac print as well as the Detroit to the Future print. The print can be found at the Art is in Market at Partridge Creek location with all my other work, or you can purchase it by clicking this link...
Over the summer, I was commissioned to work on a project with newly formed design company, Pockesquare Design. I was hired to do the graphic design for the interface, the project was an amazing experience and I wanted to share a video from the finished product. I had never done a project like this before and have to say Nina, Dave, and Gary at Pocketsquare we're more than fantastic to work with. I really appreciated the opportunity to work on such an interesting and innovative project. I hope you guys enjoy the video below!
After being at the Art is in Market at Laurel Park for 6 months, we made the decision to move to get ahold of a better demographic for us. All of my prints and canvases are exclusively at this location. We will be trying new things every month and fine tuning what we bring to you. We hope you enjoy the new location and what we bring to you in the new year!Read More
Part of my art prints being in a retail space, I have found that some of my success has derived mainly from my black and white abstract pieces. I take one part vintage Detroit image and one part theme and photoshop elements into the image giving it a bizarro look. I take history and make a new universe from it and that is where Delta City comes from. The image has elements of a successful takeover of OmniCorp, RoboCop is nowhere to be found but a small faction of the remaining public still believes, RoboCop Lives. You can pick this print up at my new retail location within the Art is in Market at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township off M-59.
Now that I have a retail outlet to sell my creativity I have had an influx of ideas that I wanted to finally get onto paper or in my case photoshop. This one is called the Power Mitten, it's an homage to my home state of Michigan and a small bit of my childhood. I hope you dig it, I plan on making this a print ASAP but was excited to show this one to the world as soon as I finished!
P.S. The Power Mitten, It's soo bad! ~Lucas
After a crazy week of getting my display together, organizing all my work and getting some new pieces printed and put onto canvas I am proud to say that I finally have my first retail location of Zuba prints. I have my booth in the back left corner of the Art is in Market store at Laurel Park Place mall in Livonia. Come stop in and have a look at what I have to offer as well as other Michigan artists from the area. Hope you see something you like and pick it up!
